The History
Lifestream was founded in NZ in 1980. Lifestream was the first innovative company to bring Spirulina to the Australasian market. Lifestream's core value was (and always will be) - clean, green, honest natural products - without compromise. Lifestream changed ownership in 1985 and launched its second product range, Lifestream Biogenic Aloe Vera Juice that same year. Spirulina and Aloe Juice remain the lifeblood of the company and are still Lifestream's best selling lines.
In 1994 the company was purchased by Steven Clews, Ross Turner and David Ross who are still Directors of the company today. (The fourth Director - Grenville Purchase joined the company in 1997). Grenville is currently the Managing Director of Lifestream.
The Directors of Lifestream can boast a combined experience of over 100 years in the health and beauty industry. Lifestream remains a privately owned New Zealand company.
One of the first jobs for the new Directorship was to commit to an intensive Research and Development program and then upgrade the packaging and point of sale material to educate the consumer on the benefits of taking Lifestream product.
The next step was to introduce more product sizes to the NZ market and then establish some export markets for the growing range. Over time, Lifestream has added many new and exciting product lines to the brand - each one meeting the core values that is Lifestream.
To manage the new growth (both domestic and export) - Lifestream moved into a new purpose built GMP plant in Northcote Auckland in 2000. A new large distribution and logistics centre was added in 2005.
In 2006 the Lifestream manufacturing plant underwent a significant upgrade and this has increased our capacity, sped up our production and allowed us to manufacture a much wider range of goods.
Lifestream now employs 23 people, has over 60 individual product lines and is the number one nutritional superfoods product supplier in New Zealand. Lifestream exports over 80% of it's product to over 20 countries including Australia, UK, Sweden, The Netherlands, Iceland, Finland, Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Indonesia, Korea, Lebanon, Mongolia, Dubai, French Polynesia, Vietnam, Portugal, Taiwan, Thailand and Singapore.
